Abstract

This study investigates the impact of integrating diverse cultures and perspectives into the AICE Global Perspectives course on student engagement and retention of information. By incorporating culturally relevant pedagogy, the study will analyze how diverse readings, case studies, and examples can help develop critical thinking, empathy, and appreciation of global diversity. Conducted at Park Vista Community High School, the study utilizes surveys and observations to analyze the effects of these approaches on a diverse student population. Findings indicate that exposure to diverse cultural content not only improves engagement and retention but also fosters empathy and a deeper connection with the material.
