Abstract
"I used the meadowlark and red-wing blackbirds for this piece due their relation to their songs, as meadowlarks include the eastern and western which can only be differinated by their song and I've heard from my mother than the blackbirds were the bells of spring in her hometown. Song is very important in birding, expanding how you understand the world around you as you hear all the different species and songs and migrations, while also just being something calming and beautiful. Listening to the bird song inspires such a rich connection to the life around you."- Eva Poore
