Abstract
This document explains the development and cultivation of seedless watermelons, which are sterile hybrids created by crossing genetically altered tetraploid plants with normal diploids. The resulting triploid seeds produce plants that yield seedless fruits when pollinated. Due to the complex and labor-intensive process, these seeds are costly and require careful cultivation. The document also highlights successful seedless watermelon varieties tested in Florida, noting their weight and sweetness levels. Original publication date May 1994.
