In Screaming for Change, Kristiansen, Blaney, Chidester, and Simonds argue that traditional scholarship has focused too much on punk’s musical, cultural, and social formations. Instead, they attempt to elevate punk to the level of a philosophy — as
a way of seeing and experiencing the world against the power of the status quo.
