Bhavik R. Bakshi, Arizona State University, United States

Bhavik R. Bakshi holds the Wrigley Professorship at Arizona State University with appointments in Chemical Engineering, Sustainability, and Complex Adaptive Systems. He is also an emeritus professor at The Ohio State University. His research is developing systematic methods to transform industrial processes and products toward sustainability. He has authored a textbook on Sustainable Engineering and teaches courses on this topic. His work has been recognized by the American Council for Life Cycle Assessment and various divisions of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He received his chemical engineering degrees from the University of Bombay and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Susan Roberts, University of Massachusetts, Lowell, United States

Susan Roberts is the Dean of the Francis College of Engineering. She was previously a Professor and Head of Chemical Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). She received her BS degree in Chemical Engineering from WPI in 1992, PhD in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University in 1998, served on the faculty at UMass Amherst Chemical Engineering for 17 years and joined WPI as Professor and Head in 2015. The primary focus of her research is on understanding the fundamental complexities in specialized metabolism and development of renewable, engineered plant cell culture systems to synthesize valuable clinical and industrial molecules.
