Author Biographies

Dianne Dorland, University of Minnesota Duluth

Dianne Dorland is Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Minnesota Duluth, where she has taught since 1986. She received her BS and MS degrees from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and her PhD from West Virginia University, all in chemical engineering. Her research interests include industrial wastewater treatment and hazardous waste management.

K. Karen Yin, University of Minnesota Duluth

Karen Yin is Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Minnesota Duluth, where she has taught since 1991. She received her MS degree in Mathematical Statistics and her PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. Her major research interests include system identification, fault detection and diagnosis, and process control.
