Faculty and staff are regularly called upon to measure and demonstrate institutional excellence by developing, implementing, and evaluating assessment initiatives and the results. The strategies and methods utilized in assessment continue to evolve to keep up with innovations in higher education. This means faculty and staff are regularly building and expanding their own skill sets related to assessment practices. For those where assessment is a portion of their duties, how do we support their assessment skill development to ensure institutional excellence? To address this big question, the session will:1) discuss strategies for supporting faculty and staff development; 2) provide tips for building a professional development program; and, 3) share findings from case examples. Attendees will receive information, resources and tools, and time to discuss and reflect.
