This article will be dealing with modern day white collar crime and will be focusing mainly on the financial-corporate category of white collar crime. More specifically, the article will debate the current struggle of regulative authorities dealing with and preventing the escalating damages of white collar crime while trying to safeguard the stability of the growing free market. The paper will start by giving a short introduction about the definition of white collar crime, its origins, and its history - from ancient times throughout the industrial revolution and up to modern times. The paper will then provide examples of notorious cases regarding white collar criminals and noting the causes and finally a conclusion with suggestions for change.
